The Alternative Interface

Introduction

The Alternative Interface (or AI for short) is provided as part of the CumulusMX package. It simply provides an additional way of viewing your data and configuring/controlling your weather station. It offers all the same functionality as the default Interface but packaged into a more user friendly and editable framework1). The menu also has a separator between these two categories.

Generally the same pages are available but some content has been combined to limit the need to navigate to additional pages and provide a more compact layout.

Screenshots

These are provided to give you a feel for the various colour themes that are available and a general impression of the layouts used. The default colour scheme is light grey. The images below are part of a 'lightbox' system - you can click to see a larger image and scroll through the others using the left and right navigation provided.

How to access the AI

This depends on how tiny currently access the default interface. Please note that you cannot access either interface from outside your local network without using third party software.

From you CumulusMX hosting computer.

If you use something like localhost:8998/ to access the default interface then…
simply adding AI2 to the end of the URL. E.g. localhost:8998/AI2/ will move you to the AI.

Alternatively, a link is available on the Utilities menu at the right of the interface menu.

From a remote computer on the same local network

If you use another computer to access the interface then you probably use something like: <ip address>:8998/ then..
again, simply add AI2/ to the URL; e.g. <ip address>:8998/AI2
